A wonderful book from beginning to end, The Magpie follows the adventures of two kids, Harrison and Cora, along with their mischievous dog companion Turk in discovering the mysteries hidden within their town and how a thieving magpie ties into it all. The strength of the book lies in the vivid descriptions given to each location, item, and every character; so that you feel tied more closely into the story and want to keep reading to see what lies next for everyone. If you enjoy fantasy novels that have a grounded world with just enough of a touch of magic and mystery to still keep you guessing, you'll enjoy this book.

This book is a very interesting read. The characters are well developed and often times humorous. The adventures the two characters went on were thrilling and exciting. I recommend this book to anyone who is ready to experience an exciting and fun loving adventure that inspires and amazes the reader.
